Associated Students, California State University Fullerton, Incorporated (ASI) seeks an experienced and credentialed professional to serve as the Director of the Children’s Center. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the management of the Children’s Center, serving the student, staff and faculty parents of CSU Fullerton. The primary responsibility of the Director is to ensure the Center is safe and fully compliant with all state and university regulations and expectations. The Director oversees professional and student staff who care for 200+ children ages three months to six years.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an early childhood education professional who would enjoy working in a university community and engaging undergraduate students. Recognizing and appreciating the benefits and challenges of supervising staff for whom academics is the highest priority is important for success in this role. The ability to prepare and submit grant proposals to support the Center is also a key role of the Director.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of teaching experience and the equivalent of five to seven years of progressively responsible and relevant professional, administrative, and supervisory experience. A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree in an appropriate field is preferred. In addition, the selected candidate must have at least 24 college level units in early childhood development, including 3 units in infant/toddler development and 9 semester units in adult supervision and administration. The Director must hold or be deemed eligible to hold a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California State Department of Education Commission for Teacher Preparation and Licensing.
