Dear Prospective Employer:
I am seeking a challenging position with a company that will build upon my skills dealing with direct services for the public for over 15 years. I have had the abilities to engage well with people of all race, age and gender. Please allow me to highlight my experience.
I possess a Liberal Arts degree from Wayne County Community College. In addition,
I have a diploma of certification through the Medical Assistance program at Everest
Institute. I am a Registered Phlebotomy Technician through the American Medical Technologists. I have received my accreditation through the American Medical Technologist May 2008. I also have obtained my Bachelor’s Degree of Liberal Arts in Community Services from Siena Heights University in May 2015.
I have gained vast experience, working for Wolverine Human Services as a Licensing Recruitment Case Manager. My duties include; weekly phone calls to clients, annual and renewal home assessments, PRIDE trainings/train the trainer, usage of the MiSACWIS data base for State of Michigan’s records for Foster care cases.
I have gained and abundant amount of medical knowledge working for Garden City Hospital at an off-site draw station for over seven years. I have encountered the skills such as Registration Clerk, Customer Service Representative, Patient Advocate, Lab Assistant and Lab Technician Assistant. My daily duties were as such; registering patients for the hospitals demographics and checking patients insurances. In addition, I also have the ability to place the correct diagnosis on the lab requisition for proper billing purposes. Duties also include general Phlebotomy procedures as such; venipuncture draws, finger sticks, blood cultures and stool cultures. Lab Technician duties are as followed; urine collection, blood specimen collection and processing, biopsy collection, and sterile culture collection. Preparing specimens for the centrifuge, specimen pour-overs and storage for the correct specimen control.
In addition, I have also devoted two years as an AmeriCorps member, volunteering with
Detroit Public Schools, administering the corrective reading program for elementary
students in an effort to boost their reading capabilities. I have completed an internship with the Brightmoor Alliance in the summer of 2014.
I hope that after you have reviewed the enclosed resume, we can discuss employment
opportunities with your organization.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Starlit Carpenter
