Plan, adapt and develop conducive age appropriate lesson plan curriculums that are designed to inspire children. Age appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate children’s cognitive skills, abilities and development. Provides continuous supervision to children enrolled in BSPLA; ensures health and safety of children; maintains Centers, rooms and play areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition; sets up rooms and areas for various activities such as lunch, naps, games, etc.; records daily observations of children’s behavior and activities; monitors behavioral patterns and develops assessment and profiles; schedule parent conferences with Director to discuss children’s development and concerns; works with family to devise learning and development strategies as necessary; maintains accurate attendance and enrollment records; maintains appropriate confidential records; monitors children for signs of child abuse and reports incidents of suspected abuse to appropriate authorities; orders supplies and materials for classroom use; maintains current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Development.
Partner with parents to support, guide and share in their child’s growth and development. The Lead Teacher must be a positive role model to the children, promote and implement BSPLA philosophy, standards and expectations
Skills and Requirements
Qualification:
21 years of age or have high school diploma or equivalent and meet the Department of Early care and Learning (DECAL) requirements for Teacher.
DCA or working towards and Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, or higher.
12 – 18 months of professional teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
