SCHOOL-AGE TEACHER - South Ridge
Thank you for your interest in Children Northwest and our School Age Teacher position at our South Ridge Child Care Center. The center is located on the campus of South Ridge elementary school in the Ridgefield School District. Children Northwest provides staff for Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium (SWCCC). SWCCC operates 30 child care centers in Clark County serving over 1800 infant through school-age children and their families, utilizing more than 200 employees. ASSIGNMENT: Th South Ridge School Age Teacher position is 8 hrs/day; Monday through Friday, 9AM - 6PM.
POSITION: Under the direction of the center director, the School-Age Teacher is responsible for the creation of a learning environment which is safe, healthy, stimulating and caring, with activities designed to support and enhance children's development in literacy, math, science and the creative arts. Duties include classroom management, creating lesson plans using creative curriculum, providing direction and mentoring to child care assistants, and maintaining positive communication with parents and community partners.
1.) 20 quarter hours of college coursework in early childhood education
2.) 2 years experience working with children
