SITE COORDINATOR (LEAD EARLY LEARNING TEACHER)

Children Northwest provides staff for Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium (SWCCC). SWCCC operates 26 child care centers in Clark County serving over 1800 infant through school-age children and their families, utilizing more than 200 employees. ASSIGNMENT: The Site Coordinator (Lead Teacher) position is located at our SWCCC center at Illahee Elementary school in the Evergreen School District. This position is a split shift 35 hrs/wk, Monday-Friday working before and after school hours.
POSITION: Under the direction of the center director, the School-Age Lead Early Learning Teacher is responsible for the creation of a learning environment which is safe, healthy, stimulating and caring, with activities, games and projects designed to support and enhance children's development in literacy, math, science and the creative arts. In addition to creating a fun learning environment, the lead teacher also provides direction and mentoring to child care assistants, and is responsible for maintaining positive communication with parents and community partners. In the absence of the center director, the lead teacher may be required to ensure center remains in compliance with licensing regulations.
1.) 30 quarter hours of college coursework in early childhood education, elementary education, special education or related field; OR 20 college credits and 100 STARS or training hours
2.) 2 years experience working with children
3.) 2 years experience in leadership, supervision or management
