In a lead teacher, we look for committed, organized, ambitious, caring, loving individuals who are excited about making a difference in the lives of our students and their families. Our lead teachers understand that this is more than just a job, they are joining a team, and their teammates will be working with and depending on them for success. Some of the exciting things you will do as a Lead teacher include, but are not limited to:
? Make a difference everyday!
? Work collaboratively with other Lead teachers to ensure consistency throughout the program
? Creating daily lesson plans that challenge students at all levels
? Attend weekly unit meetings, Thursday mornings 7am-8am
? Communicate daily with parents through verbal face to face, email, daily sheets, etc.
? Work with and assign duties to the assistant teacher
? Represent Open Minds in a professional manner
? Build positive relationships in our surrounding community
? Complete student assessments and lead parent conferences
? Be a positive role model for your students
? Effectively manage your classroom/age group
? Manage your classroom budget to ensure fun, educational activities occur all year long
Job Requirements
o At least 21 years of age
o Possess an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree (required for preschool) in Early Childhood. We may accept a degree in a related field with at least 12 hours in child development or early childhood education.
o At least one year of experience working in a licensed child care facility.
o Proficiency with classroom technology (IPads, laptops, etc.)
o Ability to sit, stoop, bend to low level positions that best allow interactions with the students
Preferred Qualifications
? The ability to lift 40 lbs is strongly desired, and may be required in some classrooms
? Current CPR and First Aid training
