Instructional aides work with the support and mentorship of an experienced preschool teacher. Aides must be willing to do whatever it takes to develop and deliver a high quality education to all of ourchildren. Candidates must hold the belief that all children can succeed socially and academically and this belief must drive him or her to be relentless in his or her work.
The Aide reports to the Director and his/her mentor teacher.
Responsibilities will include:
Instructional
Support classroom teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for a group of 12 - 20 students
Implement the CSEFEL social and emotional pyramid model for supporting student’s social emotional development in alignment with the CSEFEL Inventory of Practices with the guidance of the classroom / program teacher
Create and maintain a purposeful, stimulating physical environment that meets ECERS guidelines with the guidance of the classroom / program teacher
Facilitate high-quality teacher-child interactions in alignment with the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS)
Implement Triumph’s language matrix when communicating with students
Facilitate and supervise all classroom and outdoor activities to assure a safe, healthy and inclusive environment for all children
Support daily care routines for children
Facilitate family-style snack and meals in alignment with ECERS best practices
Support and care for students during rest and nap times
Support all aspects of the daily routine
Organize, clean and maintain a sanitary classroom
Professional
Collaborate daily with classroom teachers
Embody the highest level of professionalism
Build strong relationships with students and families
Hold high expectations for students, staff and families, in alignment with Triumph Handbooks
Participate actively in regular meetings and professional development
Compliance
Maintain current Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification with EMSA
Maintain high health and safety standards according to Title 22 and Title 5
Administer medication and minor first aid to sick and injured students
Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
9 Core Early Childhood Education units
A candidate pursuing a career in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or a similar field
One year professional experience working or volunteering with young children in a preschool setting
Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification with EMSA
