This position will be working with children ranging from infants to 10 yrs. old. You will be joining a team of educators who are passionate about preparing young students for higher education through the use of project based, hands on learning. Our curriculum is inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia, Italy, curriculum, therefore knowledge and experience using that philosophy is desired. We are offering several educators an amazing career opportunity (part-time and full-time positions available) for students ranging from 6 weeks old to 12 yrs. old, (infants, toddler, pre-school, private pre-k and private kindergarten class, before/after school care for school agers).
The music teacher will also be helping out in other classrooms in addition to teaching music. Dance/drama experience as well is a plus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:As a teacher, we are looking for committed individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families, while effectively and efficiently working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement creative project-based activities in a supportive environment. Responsibilities of the teacher include, but are not limited to:• Ensure curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are in place in the classroom• Co-create lessons with colleagues and students • Differentiate instruction through creative activities• Respect all students and colleagues• Create a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking skills • Assess through innovative methods such as, but not limited to the use of anecdotal observations, finished products, photographs, and written dialogue • Keep accurate attendance records• Spend quality time with each student • Keep accurate attendance, academic, and behavioral records• Use positive methods of discipline that is child-centered and respectful• Participate in staff development and training• Ensure a safe environment for the children in our care• Interact with children and colleagues to encourage their involvement in activities• Establish and maintain good communications with parents through weekly newsletters, regular emails, approved social networks and phone calls to students’ parents• Keep accurate records and reports regarding school policy and regulations required by Florida Statutes• Implement school policies and procedures required to uphold school regulations• Provide status updates on program goals, occurrences and events regarding parents and students• Ensure room is clean and toys are disinfected, furniture is safe for children and any cleaning products or medicines are kept where children cannot get to them• Perform other duties as assigned by the owners, director, and assistant director Job Qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Associates degree in education • Ability to travel out of state to attend professional development opportunities, possibly to Italy
