Creekside United Methodist Church looking to hire nursery staff to work with children ages 6 weeks-5 years in our church nursery. We currently need nursery staff on Friday mornings (only 2 weeks per month for our MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers group). Opportunities to work during other church events may also be available if desired. We do have church childcare 4 days per week, Sun mornings & evenings, Mon mornings, Wed evenings, & Fri mornings. The Friday morning position is very part-time.. It is the perfect job for stay at home Moms, Grandmothers, former teachers, college students, or anyone that enjoys working with young children and sharing God's word. It may be possible for an employee to bring their child with them to work (child must be age 5 or younger and very well behaved.).
Employees are required to teach Bible lessons, lead craft activities, and engage in play with children. Applicants must: be a high school graduate, pass a background screening, have good references, be extremely reliable and have great communication skills. Preference will be given to those with CPR certification and childcare experience (however, this is not a requirement; we will train the right person). Applicants must:
1) be a high school graduate and at least 18 year old 2) be able to lift children up to 40 lbs 3) be able to sit on the floor and play with children? 4) be able to easily get up and down while carrying children 5) have good hearing and vision in order to see and hear the children and identify possible dangers 6) be an effective communicator that speaks good English (since you will have to communicate with parents about their children regularly) 7) be reliable & dependable 8) be willing to teach Bible lessons to the class 9) be creative and willing to plan and implement crafts for your class 10) be kind & compassionate (consoling children when upset or hurt) 11) have a positive attitude & remain flexible on the job
