Teacher responsibilities include:
Maintains an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each child and their family, other FLS teachers and ECE Director
Encourages each child’s family to be actively involved in FLS
Promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships
Guide and facilitate activities of the children, including: daily activities, field trips, selecting and arranging equipment and materials in the classroom
Tends to children’s personal hygiene needs, remaining especially attentive to them during routines such as toileting and hand washing
Organizes each day’s activities to provide children with a variety of experiences and opportunities that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity, as well as a sense of self and a feeling of belonging to the group
Conducts developmental screenings and ongoing assessments of toddlers to determine motor, language, social, cognitive, and emotional skills
Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including on-going observations, examples of the child’s work, and developmental continuum.
Implement all areas of curriculum
Maintains a safe, clean, environment, practices good personal hygiene and hand washing, and assures the well-being and safety of all the children in that environment

Teacher qualifications include:
AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, child development, Human Development, Family Studies or related field. BA/MA preferred
Have knowledge and experience in the philosophy and practices of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices
Two years of experience working in an licensed early childhood program serving infants, toddlers or preschoolers in a developmentally appropriate environment and experience working in licensed child care facility
Communicate effectively with children and their families and other staff members
Provide quality, nurturing care to children enrolled in the program
Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of toddlers and/or preschoolers
Knowledge of the Early Achiever's program preferred
