Teacher will plan, direct and implement the designated curriculum and assessment system to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards (as applicable), Ohio Preschool Program Rules, Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards, Step Up to Quality, and PLC policies and procedures; and promote parent involvement in program activities. Teacher will coordinate and work with Teacher Assistant where applicable. Teacher will work with children with special needs including those with I.E.P.s and C.S.Ps. The Head Start Teacher will be observed by staff, a third party and via video. These observations will be used for training and coaching purposes.
Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education preferred)
A minimum of one year of classroom experience with preschool children preferred
Willingness/ability to work as a team member
Good organizational, planning and time management skills
Able to document contact notes and curriculum observation notes
History of good job attendance
Must be free from communicable diseases
Valid Ohio driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle and must provide proof of personal vehicle insurance
Must be insurable by PLC’s vehicle insurance company
Must pass criminal background check
