The Teacher Assistant works closely with the Teacher to provide a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for Head Start children. The Teacher Assistant supports efforts to promote parent involvement in Head Start activities. The Teacher Assistant will be observed by staff, a third party and via video. These observations will be used for training and coaching purposes.
High school diploma or GED, and have a CDA or must obtain CDA within two years of hire (or have an associate or baccalaureate degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree)
Classroom experience with preschool children preferred
Planning and Time Management skills
Able to document various classroom requirements
Good organizational skills
Willingness/ability to work as a team member
History of good job attendance
Must be free of communicable disease
Must pass criminal background checks
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance
Must be insurable by PLC’s vehicle insurance company (exceptions may be made based on job responsibilities)
