This is a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager located at Atlanta Medical Center. WellStar Atlanta Medical Center Downtown is a 460-bed, Level I Trauma Center and teaching facility, which offers a very fast paced work environment with a wide variety of patient diagnoses.

The Manager of Care Coordination is responsible for overseeing case management throughout the continuum of the Atlanta Medical Center and Atlanta Medical Center South. The manager coordinates, monitors, and manages the clinical, educational and financial matters of the department and maintains, enhances and builds relationships with referral sources, physicians, and payor sources. Extensive knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice acquired through graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Considerable knowledge of various reimbursement mechanisms, insurance carriers, and third party payor requirements. Knowledge of the ANA/CMSA Code of Ethics.Possession of critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and present data. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, patients, families, and physicians.  

Required Minimum Education, Licensure/Certification and Experience for this position:

  • Must be a Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing with Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN); Master’s Degree is preferred.  If bachelor degree is not in nursing, MSN must be from an accredited nursing school.  
  • Current and active license as a registered nurse in the state of Georgia
  • Two years of progressive experience in nursing management is required.
  • 5 years of experience involving utilization management/review, fiscal management, patient accounts, coding and or discharge planning.
  • Must have a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment.
