Write and implement weekly lesson plans, with emphasis on (but not limited to) English and language arts and bible lessons
Keep student progress notes and reports, arrange for routine parent-teacher conferences to keep parents updated on their child(ren)'s progress
Take charge of seasonal classroom decorating to create a fun and engaging learning environment
Ensure that curricula and overall program design fits with students' developmental and educational needs
Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
Facilitate positive and productive relationships and communication with other staff and families / parents
Maintain a commitment to professionalism
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience teaching early childhood program
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to meet physical requirements of position (i.e. lifting children, sitting on the floor with students, and year-round indoor and outdoor activities)
Proven knowledge of classroom management
