The major functions of the Health Specialist is to plan, implement and monitor the Health Services content area to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Registered Nurse; or Licensed Practical Nurse; OR a Masters Degree in a health-related field with four (4) years experience in a health setting and a minimum of one (1) year experience working with young children; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in the Health Field with three (3) years experience in a related field with a Written Educational Plan to complete the educational requirements as described above.
