Job Description

We are seeking part-time lead teachers for our After Care program (REEF). Daily schedule of work may vary, depending on school needs. We are currently seeking REEF lead teachers for both the Chinese and English teaching teams at our After Care program. 

 

Requirements

Experience and knowledge of working with 3-4 year old children

Experience and knowledge in classroom management skills and developmentally appropriate learning activities for PreK aged children

At least 1 year working in early childhood, or related college coursework with practical application. 

Must be a self-directed with sound time management skills, ability to work with little supervision, problem-solving and crisis management skills. 

Must work well with other adults and be proactive in nature

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong motivational skills. 

Must have a warm and friendly personality, and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of children and parents.

 

 Responsibilities

Coordinates with REEF Supervisors to ensure class quality and all REEF part-time staff are compliant with Yu Ying's school policy and procedure.

Coordinates with REEF Supervisor to ensure that transitions are going smoothly and that students are in appropriate class. 

Coordinates with REEF Director to ensure development and adherence to REEF student discipline policy and protocol. 

Coordinates with REEF supervisors to ensure that snack count is correct. 

Supervises and ensures students’ safety during after care activities in the classroom, cafeteria, on the playground, and on field trips if necessary.

Acts as a substitute teacher when other REEF staff members are unavailable. 

Performs additional program duties as assigned by supervisor(s) according to the School’s needs.

Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of after care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult (parent or authorized adult for pickup).

Works with other staff members to form a positive and supportive team.

Assists REEF Director in developing new and special classes and writing new class guidelines and descriptions.

Works with REEF administration to develop and implement processes and procedures to increase the quality, security, and safety of REEF programs. 

Contribute to a variety of projects and tasks associated with the general operation of a public charter school and its extracurricular programs, as may be requested from time to time by appropriate personnel.
