1. Meet or exceed qualifications for Career Level III, as outlined by Georgia Professional Development System for Early Childhood Educators (GAPDS).
2. Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest and play.
3. Instruct children in activities that promote academic, creative and physical development.
4. Plan and implement standards-based lessons in math and literacy across the classroom interest areas.
5. Administer periodic assessments of academic progress in order to create child-centered, developmentally appropriate lessons.
6. Communicate with parents on their child’s growth and progress.
7. Demonstrate the ability to manage a classroom of preschool children with varying personalities and abilities.
8. Demonstrate the ability to be calm and gentle to children under pressure, regardless of current display of behavior.
9. Maintain sanitation of all classroom areas including furniture, materials, sinks, and restroom.
10. Maintain positive relationships with children, families, co-workers, administrators and vendors.
11. Create a fun and safe learning environment.
12. Maintain the health and safety of all children.
13. Follow all BFTS and state rules and regulations.
14. Follow all policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by the academy.
15. Complete and maintain training record as outlined by BFTS and Georgia Statues.
1. At least 6 months of experience in early childhood education.
2. Minimum of a CDA (preferred).
