Discovery Zone Learning Center is a faith-based program and seeking a teacher assistant/ aide to support the classroom teacher and director. The candidate should be organized and detail oriented and have experience in a childcare setting. They should be to create a safe, fun and caring learning environment for our children.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
Assist in implantation to developmentally appropriate curricula
Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations
Participate in our professional development plan ensure professional growth.
Our mission is to provide a Christ centered age appropriate social and academic program for families in Linwood and the surrounding communities.
A
dditional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience
High energy.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of child development
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Must clear full background check.
Must pass health screening with TB shot
Physical Requirements
Being able to lift approximately 20-50 lbs.
Being able to actively participate with children on their level
Work outdoors in variety of weather in accordance with State guidelines
Perform light cleaning duty; wipe down surfaces.
