A Brief Overview
Provides administrative coverage when the Director is absent by providing general supervision of the center, relays information regarding staff issues to the Director, and assists with coordination of schedules for staff members and volunteers. Manages enrollment, food program, Summer Camp, and supplies.
What you will do
Provide support to leadership by facilitating communications between staff and leadership.
Provide general administrative coverage when the Director is unavailable.
Manage enrollment including coordination of staffing requirements and keeping and monitoring statistics.
Oversee the purchasing and maintenance of supplies for the entire building while keeping within budget guidelines.
Coordinate the Food Program while keeping within state requirements and budget guidelines.
Summer Camp Director, which includes designing, monitoring and coordinating funds, staffing, lesson plans and field trips.
Assist in coordinating staff schedules.
Assist in client billing.
Assist in training and evaluating performance of personnel and volunteers.
Maintain personnel policies and practices for the Company.
Collect lesson plans.
Keeps the lobby and entryway fresh and appealing to students and families by creating and changing decorations frequently.
Fill job duties of Early Education Teacher when necessary.
Education Qualifications
Twelve semester hours of academic study or equivalent training in child development, early childhood education, curriculum resources, nutrition, child guidance, parent education, supervised practicum, and administration of early childhood programs; and six months’ teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools; Required or
Child development credential AND one year of teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools, or supervised practicum in licensed centers or preschools; Required or
Two year certificate in child development AND one year of teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools, or a supervised practicum in licensed centers or preschools; Required or
Associate's Degree An associate of arts degree AND one year of teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools, or a supervised practicum in licensed centers or preschools; Required or
Bachelor's Degree Child development or early childhood education, including a supervised practicum; and three months’ teaching experience in a licensed centers or preschools; Required or
Bachelor's Degree Related academic discipline and 12 hours of academic study or equivalent training in child development, early childhood education, curriculum resources, nutrition, child guidance, parent education, supervised practicum, and administration of early childhood programs; AND six months teaching experience in licensed center or preschools. Required
Licenses and Certifications
Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, and Illness, Abuse and Neglect Awareness.
Must be able to pass a KBI background check, including fingerprinting.
Must complete minimum state required hours of in-service education annually.
