Job Description

Job Title: Early Childhood Childcare - Group Supervisor

The West Chester Y is looking a full-time Group Supervisor to work between the hours of 7am-6pm in our Infant, One and Two Year Old classrooms. We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the life of a child in our early childhood development center. Responsibilities: Assisting the Lead Teachers and Director with planning and implementing all daily activities. Oversee the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program; Interacting with the children to encourage development and involvement in activities. Mentoring children around the YMCA Core Values. Obtain a Child Abuse and Police Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Bloodborne Pathogens training, CPR, First Aid, yearly health assessment and any other training necessary to comply with DPW regulations.

 

Job Requirements

A Group Supervisor must have attained one of the following qualification levels:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year (1,250) hours of experience.
  • An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years (2,500) hours of experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years (3,750) hours of experience.
