Qualification:
21 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) requirements for Teacher
15 ECE core units required including Infant/Toddler class
CDA or working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
12-18months of professional teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
Must meet state requirements for education and additional center/school requirements may apply
CPR / First Aid and AED Certified
Clean driving record
Clean Background Check
Responsibilities: • Keep safety of children as a first priority - with emphasis on an atmosphere that is family- friendly, age-appropriate, inclusive, and conducive to a quality-driven environment • All other relevant duties AS assigned by Director.
• Use positive and constructive methods of behavior guidance and ensure that all staff do the same
• Supervise children and manage transitions smoothly to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
• Work with the Asst. Teacher in the design of the classroom space and maintain facility and supplies at all times
• Assist the Asst. Teacher with relevant assessments on a variety of levels throughout the year by means of progress reports, parent surveys, and program self-assessment
• Provide children with a well-balanced curriculum of specific, planned learning experiences that support their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development
• Utilize curricula which is developmentally and linguistically appropriate; provide for the development, interests and temperaments of individual children; supports school readiness and educational development; and include goals for the knowledge and skills to be acquired by children in various areas of learning
• Participate in regular staff meetings
• Assume accountability for all children assigned to classroom and connect daily with parents/guardians
• Adhere to the rules, regulations and procedures set forth by BSPLA and Georgia Bright From The Start.
• Completion of specific training as designated by association guidelines
Collaborate with team in developing classroom plans and goals
Develop conducive age appropriate lesson plan curriculums that is designed to inspire children
Partner with parents to support, guide and share in their child’s growth and development

The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher must be a positive role model to the children, promote and implement BSPLA philosophy, standards and expectations.
