San Joaquin Delta College has an exciting part-time opportunity (20hrs/week) for an ECE Teacher (Learning Advisor I) in our Child Development Center. This position provides appropriate and quality instructional, social and physical activities for children 18 months to 5 years old (pre-kindergarten). Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate early childhood development curriculum including effective learning activities and lessons for assigned children in a specific age group; prepare related instructional materials.
- Monitor the activities of children during meal times, play times and rest periods; oversee children's use, care and storage of Center materials, toys and supplies; assume responsibility for the classroom in the absence of higher level staff.
- Assist in ensuring that the Center is well-maintained and that its appearance is cheerful, safe and appropriate for children of all age groups.
- Perform duties associated with the care of children which may include change diapers and participate in toilet training activities for infants and toddlers; sanitize and clean counters, toys and tables before and after meals or other activities.
- Perform other duties associated with the care of children including reading stories and helping children to fall asleep.
- Work with student teachers and volunteers in the Center; answer questions or refer students to other staff as appropriate.
- May be required to contact parents regarding their child's behavior or needs.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
