I have always been the type of person that enjoys being around and taking care of children. Ever since I was in high school I knew the career I wanted to go into was teaching young children. I take great pleasure in seeing a child's eyes light up when you teach them something new and I enjoy all the ups and downs that come with teaching young children. My AA in Early Childhood Education has given me an excellent education and great experience with teaching children. Part of my schooling consisted of observing teachers in their classrooms. This gave me invaluable experience learning how to develop and carry out a study plan for a classroom. I learned that one of the most important factors in successfully teaching children is flexibility, children learn in different ways and you need to be able to accommodate this. The classroom is also an ever changing environment, especially when dealing with young children, so you also need to be able to adjust to how your kids are acting any given day so that you can keep on task. I am a very organized, patient, outgoing, and adaptable individual; these qualities will help me to become an excellent teacher and an excellent fit for this position. Above all I love working with children and would look forward to each day in the classroom.

Head Peewee Coach (Volunteer)

Duties, Accomplishments, and related skills: As a volunteer Peewee coach I was responsible for providing a basic knowledge of the game of basketball. I had to organize and plan practice twice a week and develop learning activities that would best relate to my group of children. This job required great patience and a lot of creativity to keep children aged 4-8engaged and involved in the sport. I was also required to maintain relationships with the parents of my team members and work with them to schedule practices and games.
