Additional Information
Dear Sir or Madam: I am interested in an early childhood or elementary teaching position and am therefore forwarding my resume. As you can see from my resume, I graduated with a Masters of Science in general and special education and have extensive teaching experience at the preschool and elementary age level. I posses a bilingual extension and am finishing up my last class to 30 credits outside of my graduate degree. My Bachelors degree is in education and psychology as an interdisciplinary major. Throughout my fifteen years of teaching I have been able to use my interdisciplinary Education/ Psychology major background to actively integrate and apply both disciplines towards classroom methodology. I have had the opportunity to work with special needs students ranging from ages two to five and have acquired a deeper understanding of child behavior in relation to education. My educational background and continual hands on teaching experiences have taught me to recognize emotional, social and psychological factors which can promote or inhibit a child’s educational success. My graduate degree and past employment opportunities in inner New York City schools have equipped me with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully work with bilingual and special needs students. I believe my understanding of these issues will provide me with a competitive edge in this field and will help me to add value to your institution. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions, please give me a call at (646) 234-5063. Thank you for your time and consideration. Viviana P. Estrada Gavela
