Relevant Experience

I have 5 years experience as a teacher assistant at Chelsea Day

School, a private preschool in New York City from 1995-2000. During

those years I worked with children ages 2-5 years old. I have

performed all duties as a partner with the head teachers, which

included curriculum planning, assessment, parent/teacher conferences,

etc.

After relocating to California in 2000, I became a stay at home

parent. I was a regular volunteer at my youngest child’s preschool,

Central Methodist Nursery School, where I was occasionally a

substitute as well. I have also assisted in classrooms at Don Riggio

Elementary School where for five years I volunteered on a regular

basis. I have also used these school sites for teaching hours as well

as observations for my class assignments towards my B.A. in Early

Childhood Education.

From August 2008- June 2009: I was employed as a classified substitute

for Lincoln Unified School District in Stockton, CA.

From January 2009 -June 2009: I was employed as a mainstream and ELL

support team teacher at Don Riggio Elementary School in Stockton, CA.

From August 2009- December 2009: I was employed at Blossom House, a

Waldorf inspired Nursery in SE Portland working with children from 16

months – 3 years old. I was also responsible for communication with

parents via email and through a bi-monthly newsletter as well as

assisting in staff management.

From January 2010- May 2010: I was employed at Blossom House Preschool,

a Waldorf inspired preschool in NE Portland working with children ages

2 ½ -5 years old.

From May 2010-August 2010: I was employed by Volunteers of America in the capacity of a substitute teacher for their Family Relief Nursery as well as in the satellite respite nursery at Saint John’s Hospital.

From August 2010-March 2013: I was employed by Merchnow/Equal Vision Records in Albany, NY. My duties included shipping and packing online retail orders as well as assisting in investigating customer issues and all mail shipping operations.

From June 2013- Jan. 2015: Employed at Harmony Kids LLC in Albany, NY. My duties included floater and substitute for all classes from infant through Pre-K as well as in the grade school summer program. I was also often employed as a long term substitute head classroom teacher in Pre-K as well as having management responsibilities on behalf of the director such as training co-workers, dealing with parent issues and the responsibility of closing the center in the absence of the director..

B.A. in Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications

I have accumulated many classroom hours and experience over the years

as well as personal experience raising my own two sons, ages 14 and 18.

I have a strong conviction in contributing to the quality of children’s

education.
