When I was in high school I volunteered my services at the daycare I went to when I was an infant. When I volunteered I was more of a teacher aide. I just helped her prep the children work, clean and help her with the children acticvites.I couldn't do much hands on at the time because I wasn't certified and I was young. But I knew from that moment on I wanted to work with children once I got that experience. I also went back to observed when I started college for my ECE class. My first job at a daycare was with the people who raised me at their daycare when I was just a baby. It was a blessing to know that I was able to work there to help me further my dreams. I was the teacher assistant. So, I helped with the lesson plans, I supervised the children and disciplined the children only when needed, and getting to know the children and parents on a one on one level as well as building a love and trust relationship with the families. When I moved on to my second daycare I enjoyed it as well. I love the way they had things set up. When working at the next daycare each child was provided with a notebook and inside of them we recored their diaper changes, the things they ate while at daycare, the time they took their nap and when they woke up from nap, and the things they did through out the day. So when the parents got there they knew everything they needed. But I am looking for a daycare that I can consinder being at long term wise.
